Job summary

The Cloud Engineer develops and maintains shared cloud platform components and services that support secure enterprise-wide cloud adoption. The role automates provisioning, maintenance, and deployment with Terraform; defines cloud architecture and roadmaps; and helps teams design and onboard solutions on Google Cloud Platform. It also supports scalable, highly available infrastructure and practices for security, disaster recovery, monitoring, and performance.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience with microservices architecture.
  • At least 5 years of experience with container orchestration, including Kubernetes.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Google Cloud Platform products, concepts, and services.
  • Experience with IAM, cloud-native networking, security controls, Anthos GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud Logging, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Looker Studio, and billing.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including GitHub and deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and maintain cloud platforms, services, and components.
  • Build software and pipelines to automate cloud provisioning, maintenance, and deployment.
  • Define reference cloud architecture and platform capability roadmaps.
  • Design and build highly available, scalable infrastructure.
  • Communicate architecture patterns, platform vision, and technology roadmaps to stakeholders.
  • Advise teams on Google Cloud Platform design patterns, best practices, and security considerations.
  • Help teams scope, estimate, develop, and onboard Google Cloud solutions.
  • Explore cloud technologies and support the evolution and availability of platform services.
  • Establish controls to meet application availability, integrity, reliability, and disaster recovery requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure and performance.
