Job summary

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer helps deliver and evolve secure, scalable, highly available cloud platforms for the HSBC Productivity Suite. The role builds and operates AWS environments and Kubernetes platforms using Terraform, manages cloud costs, and assesses open-source technologies and LLM solutions. It also applies production-readiness, release governance, monitoring, and incident-preparedness practices in collaboration with engineering, architecture, security, risk, and compliance teams.

• Experience designing, building, testing, deploying, monitoring, and operating production platforms in a large, complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to cloud, DevOps, and platform engineering initiatives across AWS and Kubernetes.
• Build, configure, and operate AWS environments and reusable platform capabilities using Terraform.
• Improve Kubernetes platform resilience, performance, developer experience, and operational efficiency.
• Manage cloud costs through resource tagging, allocation, rightsizing, capacity planning, scheduling, and usage monitoring.
• Assess open-source technologies and LLM solutions for performance, cost, scalability, security, privacy, resilience, and regulatory requirements.
• Apply release governance, deployment validation, rollback controls, monitoring, alerting, logging, capacity management, and incident preparedness.
• Coordinate with application engineering, architecture, security, risk, compliance, and IT teams to meet standards and delivery commitments.
