Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer supports the day-to-day operation of production and user services, providing third-line support and resolving infrastructure incidents, service requests, problems, and events. The role manages cloud and on-site infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure, M365, Entra ID, virtual machines, desktops, and servers, while applying security controls, investigating root causes, maintaining documentation, and driving service improvements.

Qualifications

• Technology-based degree or equivalent, or relevant technical experience.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Azure, M365, Entra ID (Azure AD), and user management.
• Experience managing virtual machines, desktops, and servers.
• Understanding of user applications and network management.

Responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure and service desk issues through timely resolution and provide progress updates.
• Provide third-line support for incidents and requests, escalating when needed.
• Investigate infrastructure issues, perform detailed triage and root-cause analysis, and implement fixes.
• Configure and maintain on-site and cloud infrastructure services.
• Manage user permissions in line with requests, role-based access controls, and agreed standards.
• Apply server operating system and software updates.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve issues and deliver improvements.
• Ensure changes and fixes follow agreed standards, quality controls, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation and update the IT knowledge base.
• Contribute to change approval and continual service improvement activities.
