Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is tasked with designing, automating, securing, and supporting cloud infrastructure and platform services. This role involves maintaining Azure and/or AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, implementing network and storage services, and building deployment pipelines while ensuring security controls are applied. The engineer also produces technical documentation to support operations and compliance.

Qualifications

• Azure and/or AWS infrastructure engineering
• Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code
• Cloud networking, DNS, load balancing and firewalls
• Identity and access management
• PowerShell, Python, Bash or equivalent automation
• CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
• Monitoring, observability and operational diagnostics
• Containers and Kubernetes awareness or experience
• Cloud security controls and policy enforcement
• Backup, resilience, recovery and service management

Responsibilities

• Design, provision and maintain Azure and/or AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
• Implement network, compute, storage, identity, secrets and platform services
• Support landing-zone controls, subscription/account structures and environment separation
• Build and maintain deployment pipelines and platform automation
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, recovery and capacity controls
• Support containers and orchestration platforms where required
• Apply patching, vulnerability remediation, configuration and change controls
• Produce architecture-aligned technical documentation, runbooks and support evidence
