Job summary
Wavenet is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and support secure, scalable cloud platforms across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments. This is a hands-on senior engineering role focused on infrastructure, automation, identity, and platform improvement. The engineer will modernize legacy services, deliver resilient cloud solutions, and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to support business change.

Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or systems engineering
- Good working knowledge of Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation tooling, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of identity, security, governance, and operational best practices in cloud environments
- Experience supporting migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure changes in complex environments
- Ability to work with various stakeholders and communicate technical issues clearly
- Awareness of emerging AI and LLM technologies, with the ability to assess their value in infrastructure operations and engineering workflows
- Practical, problem-solving approach to infrastructure engineering
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Structured, automation-first mindset
- Confidence to take ownership of technical delivery and improvement
- Clear communication and ability to work well across teams
- Curiosity about AI-enabled ways of working and judgment to apply them appropriately, securely, and pragmatically
- Degree in IT, computer science, infrastructure engineering, or a related field (useful, not essential)
- Relevant certifications in Azure, AWS, Microsoft, Terraform, or security (advantageous)
- Experience working in complex, changing environments with a strong focus on delivery and continuous improvement (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support secure, scalable cloud platforms across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments
- Modernize legacy services
- Deliver resilient cloud solutions
- Work closely with technical and non-technical teams to support business change
- Improve and automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
- Support cloud migrations, platform upgrades, and transition from legacy infrastructure
- Collaborate with security, networking, and delivery teams to maintain reliable and compliant services
- Provide technical guidance and act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues
- Identify opportunities to use AI tools and automation to improve operational efficiency, monitoring, and service delivery
