Job summary

Wavenet is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and support secure, scalable cloud platforms across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments. This is a hands-on senior engineering role focused on infrastructure, automation, identity, and platform improvement. The engineer will modernize legacy services, deliver resilient cloud solutions, and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to support business change.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or systems engineering
  • Good working knowledge of Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation tooling, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of identity, security, governance, and operational best practices in cloud environments
  • Experience supporting migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure changes in complex environments
  • Ability to work with various stakeholders and communicate technical issues clearly
  • Awareness of emerging AI and LLM technologies, with the ability to assess their value in infrastructure operations and engineering workflows
  • Practical, problem-solving approach to infrastructure engineering
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Structured, automation-first mindset
  • Confidence to take ownership of technical delivery and improvement
  • Clear communication and ability to work well across teams
  • Curiosity about AI-enabled ways of working and judgment to apply them appropriately, securely, and pragmatically
  • Degree in IT, computer science, infrastructure engineering, or a related field (useful, not essential)
  • Relevant certifications in Azure, AWS, Microsoft, Terraform, or security (advantageous)
  • Experience working in complex, changing environments with a strong focus on delivery and continuous improvement (desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and support secure, scalable cloud platforms across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments
  • Modernize legacy services
  • Deliver resilient cloud solutions
  • Work closely with technical and non-technical teams to support business change
  • Improve and automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Support cloud migrations, platform upgrades, and transition from legacy infrastructure
  • Collaborate with security, networking, and delivery teams to maintain reliable and compliant services
  • Provide technical guidance and act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues
  • Identify opportunities to use AI tools and automation to improve operational efficiency, monitoring, and service delivery
