Cloud Operations Engineer

Job summary

The Cloud Operations Engineer role is responsible for utilizing various cloud technologies to support customers and maintain a scalable platform for a cloud application. Key responsibilities include resolving customer issues, performing deployments and migrations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiencies. Candidates should have over 5 years of experience with public cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and expertise in containerization technologies like Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years working with Public Cloud infrastructure AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Advanced Linux or Open Source knowledge
• Expert in Containerization ie Kubernetes
• Solid understanding of cloud networking and security
• Infrastructure and Configuration as Code methodologies
• Detailed knowledge Microservices and DevOps
• 3+ years in incident response and major incident management
• Experience with the following technologies: Docker, Rancher, Virtualization, VPN, Kafka, RDP
• Advanced Linux and Windows experience
• Experience with Confluence/Jira, Nagios, SSO, and SQL is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve time-critical customer issues in the public cloud
• Perform customer deployments, migrations and upgrades in the cloud environment
• Support automation projects including writing coding
• Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and manage servers in multiple cloud environments
• Create, manage, and maintain Cloud networking components
• Perform backups and restores of database and servers
• Assist in ensuring security processes are followed and customer data is secured
• Perform other administrative tasks in cloud environments as directed
• Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Support teams to resolve issues
• Build effective working relationships with cross-functional team members
• Make suggestions for process improvements and enhanced operational efficiencies
