Job summary

Operates and improves Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services to keep cloud platforms secure, reliable, available, and well governed. The role manages identity, endpoints, networking, infrastructure, monitoring, backup, and recovery; investigates incidents and coordinates remediation with service partners. It also automates operational tasks with PowerShell, uses Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and KQL for observability, and supports cost optimization and infrastructure as code.

• Hands-on experience operating production Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services.
• Experience with Entra ID or Active Directory, identity lifecycle, role-based access control, Conditional Access, and privileged access management.
• Experience managing endpoints with Intune and supporting Azure networking and cloud-hosted workloads.
• Familiarity with physical network infrastructure, including firewalls, switching, and print services.
• Ability to configure monitoring and investigate issues using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and KQL.
• Working knowledge of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and relevant security controls.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, documented recovery procedures, and recovery testing.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, patching, and risk-based vulnerability remediation.
• PowerShell scripting skills and understanding of cloud cost optimization.
• Experience collaborating through incident, problem, and change processes, including with external service partners.
• Clear communication, sound judgment, and a practical approach to ownership and continuous improvement.
• Desirable experience with infrastructure as code, Python or Bash automation, Microsoft Sentinel, hybrid virtualization, SaaS integrations, or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer Azure and Microsoft 365 services, monitoring availability, performance, and operational security.
• Manage Entra ID and Active Directory operations, including identity lifecycle processes, groups, access controls, privileged identities, and service accounts.
• Maintain Intune enrollment, device compliance, application protection, and endpoint configuration.
• Support Azure-hosted Windows Server workloads, networking, and relevant DNS and DHCP services.
• Operate Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery, test recovery arrangements, and maintain runbooks.
• Build alerts, dashboards, and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and KQL.
• Investigate incidents, coordinate resolution with service partners, and document root causes and preventive actions.
• Coordinate patching and risk-based vulnerability remediation.
• Automate repeatable tasks using PowerShell and maintain infrastructure-as-code templates with the DevOps team.
• Monitor cloud costs and recommend tagging, right-sizing, and other cost-saving measures.
