Job summary

As a Cloud Engineer, you will develop and operate an AWS-based platform supporting Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, observability, and platform engineering. This role combines software engineering with hands-on platform operations, including participation in an on-call rotation for a business-critical platform. You will contribute to cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with engineers to improve the platform.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and container technologies, including Kubernetes and EKS.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Experience with modern observability tools and concepts.
  • Strong interest in secure, reliable, and cost-optimized cloud solutions.
  • Competency in using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude Code, or Cursor AI to improve productivity and engineering workflows.
  • Ability to take ownership and independently drive topics forward.
  • Enjoy tackling challenges and solving them pragmatically.
  • Deeper Kubernetes specialization in areas like networking, observability, security, or persistence.
  • Hands-on experience with Grafana, Loki, Prometheus metrics, or Distributed Tracing.
  • Experience with CI/CD, deployment workflows, and tools such as GitHub Actions, Flux, or ArgoCD.
  • Experience with additional AWS compute technologies like Serverless and ECS.
  • Programming skills in languages such as Go or TypeScript.
  • Strong interest in automation.
  • Personal interest in cloud-native technologies and curiosity for new tools and concepts.
  • Intrinsic motivation to continuously learn and improve.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate the AWS-based platform supporting Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, observability, and platform engineering.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with engineers on platform improvements.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for the business-critical platform.
  • Operate and develop the EKS-based Kubernetes platform in AWS, focusing on security, resilience, scalability, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to consult on cloud architecture, CI/CD, deployment workflows, observability, and cost optimization.
  • Support the merge of Compute and Observability by shaping reliable platform capabilities.
  • Actively use, explore, and improve AI tools and workflows for platform development.
