Cloud Platform Engineer

Job summary

Design and support scalable, secure cloud solutions for a government multi-cloud environment with more than 50 customer tenants. The role covers cloud architecture and modernization in Azure and AWS GovCloud, proofs of concept, GitLab CI/CD automation, and security controls aligned with ATO, NIST, and FedRAMP requirements. It also includes troubleshooting complex systems and optimizing cloud performance and cost.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related cloud engineering experience.
• Experience supporting Azure GovCloud and AWS GovCloud environments and solutions.
• Experience leading and collaborating with technical teams across diverse IT skill sets.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
• Active Azure or AWS certification.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-based and hybrid solutions using Azure and AWS GovCloud.
• Develop proofs of concept and minimum viable products using Azure and AWS services.
• Maintain cloud architecture standards, best practices, and security guidelines for adoption and migration.
• Provision, manage, and monitor cloud services and systems.
• Build and improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
• Design secure cloud architectures compliant with ATO requirements and NIST/FedRAMP frameworks.
• Implement identity and access management, network security, and data encryption controls.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify and address cloud vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and optimize cloud performance and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and lead root cause analysis.
