Job summary

Cloud & Platform Engineers at Frontdoor maintain the availability and uptime of infrastructure, utilizing software engineering principles to solve operational challenges. The role involves integrating and automating solutions, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing best DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with cloud service providers (GCP, AWS).
• Experience with configuration management software (Ansible/Chef/Puppet).
• Knowledge of containers and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes/Nomad/Mesos/Swarm).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/Jenkins/Travis).
• Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Proficient with Linux CLI.
• Proficient in shell scripting and one programming language (Python/Go).
• Knowledge of distributed version control systems (git/bzr/hg).
• Ability to write technical user documents.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Understanding of computer networking concepts (TCP/UDP, IP Routing, DNS).
• Experience with a CDN (e.g. Akamai).

• Research and implement solutions for resilient services.

• Participate in on-call rotation for incidents.
• Troubleshoot and support production issues.

• Investigate anomalies and determine root causes.

• Build and maintain cloud and container orchestration infrastructure.
• Collaborate with teams to automate and streamline operations.
• Implement best DevOps practices to improve performance.
