Job summary

Own and improve a group-wide Azure and hybrid infrastructure, simplifying on-premises and cloud server environments while reducing technical debt. Responsibilities include Azure compute, networking, storage, and identity; Intune device and application management; application delivery; governance and cost control; and reliable backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and security controls. The environment uses Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, PowerShell, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure Monitor.

• Hands-on Azure infrastructure experience, including compute, storage, VNets, NSGs, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and PowerShell automation
• Experience managing on-premises Windows servers in a hybrid Azure environment
• Experience rationalising infrastructure, consolidating servers, or replacing unsupported systems
• Experience managing Microsoft Intune at scale, including device enrolment and application deployment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, and MFA
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring, including Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and Azure Monitor
• Ability to work across teams and sites and explain technical decisions to non-technical colleagues

Responsibilities

• Rationalise on-premises and Azure server environments, replacing unsupported systems and reducing technical debt
• Design, operate, and improve Azure and hybrid infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, and identity
• Manage group-wide devices and applications through Intune and maintain consistent policies across sites
• Select application delivery methods and reduce reliance on Azure Virtual Desktop
• Establish Azure standards, policies, and tagging, and manage cloud costs
• Maintain and test backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring systems
• Implement security controls, patch servers, and resolve identified vulnerabilities in partnership with security teams
• Support application development teams with suitable environments
