Job summary
Cloud Platform Engineer to build and operate an internal Cloud Platform on AWS, implement scalable Kubernetes clusters, and develop CI/CD pipelines. The role involves working with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Jenkins, and requires strong German and English language skills.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role
- Profound knowledge of AWS core services (EKS, EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch)
- Experience with AWS Organizations (Multi-Account structures, SCPs, Landing Zones)
- Experience with AWS Backup (Backup Policies, Recovery Scenarios)
- Practical experience with Kubernetes (cluster administration, deployment strategies, network concepts)
- Proficient in Terraform or OpenTofu for Infrastructure-as-Code
- Experience developing and maintaining reusable Terraform modules built and tested via Jenkins pipelines
- Experience building and operating Jenkins pipelines (simple build jobs to complex multi-stage CI/CD workflows)
- Basic programming skills in at least one language (Python, Bash, or Go) for automation scripts, Lambda functions, or tooling
- Understanding of GitOps principles and modern deployment approaches (e.g., Helm)
- Experience with Kanban and tool-supported work (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
- Fluent German language skills (minimum C1 level)
- Good English language skills
- Agile mindset, pragmatism, and enthusiasm for shaping development
Responsibilities
- Build and operate internal Cloud Platform on AWS
- Design, implement, operate, monitor, and develop scalable Kubernetes clusters (Amazon EKS)
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins
- Automate deployment processes
- Manage Cloud infrastructure as Code with Terraform
- Ensure repeatability, traceability, and security of infrastructure
- Collaborate with Product Owner, DevOps, IT Security, and Developer Teams
- Implement platform features from requirements to production
- Identify technical debt and improve platform stability
- Contribute ideas for infrastructure development
- Support developers with platform onboarding
- Promote Developer Enablement through standards, documentation, and self-service solutions
