Job summary

Designs, deploys, and evolves secure private cloud platforms for critical railway signalling solutions. The role includes administering Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes, Linux and virtualization infrastructure, automating deployment and operations with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD tools, and improving platform security, observability, and reliability. It also involves modernizing applications and collaborating across engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams.

• Degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications, or equivalent practical experience in cloud platform and infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on expertise deploying, administering, scaling, and troubleshooting Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Advanced Linux administration skills, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Bash or shell scripting skills.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code, including Ansible or Terraform.
• Experience with VMware vSphere or OpenShift Virtualization.
• Professional proficiency in English at C1 level and Spanish.
• Collaborative approach to working in cross-functional global teams.
• Knowledge of enterprise networking, persistent storage, or observability tools.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, JBoss, or HPE server infrastructure is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and evolve secure, scalable private cloud platforms for railway solutions.
• Configure and deploy platform and application components, including PostgreSQL, JBoss, and ActiveMQ Artemis.
• Install, administer, scale, upgrade, and troubleshoot OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
• Modernize Java and Linux applications for containerized and microservices-based architectures.
• Administer and automate Linux, virtualization, HPE compute, networking, and storage infrastructure.
• Build and maintain automation, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD capabilities.
• Improve platform monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Apply cloud-native security practices, including access controls, secrets management, and system hardening.
• Optimize infrastructure capacity, performance, availability, and resource utilization.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across infrastructure, platform, middleware, database, and application layers.
• Collaborate with development, engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams on technical solutions and project delivery.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and version-controlled configurations.
• Evaluate technologies and contribute to platform evolution, automation, and standardization.
