Job summary

As a Cloud Platform Engineer at Sandbox Mutual Insurance, you will design, build, and support cloud environments, focusing on AWS and a multi-cloud approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3–5 years in cloud engineering or infrastructure roles with AWS experience
• Experience designing and supporting AWS environments; Azure experience is a plus
• Knowledge of cloud identity and access management
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and modern connectivity solutions
• Experience with scripting and Infrastructure as Code tools
• Experience with Microsoft Intune for device compliance
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to mentor and influence decisions
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and on-call rotations

Responsibilities

• Design and support cloud platforms with a focus on AWS and Azure
• Build and maintain secure, scalable cloud architectures
• Manage identity and access across AWS IAM and Microsoft Entra ID
• Support secure connectivity across hybrid environments
• Act as a Tier II escalation point for cloud and network incidents
• Lead incident response efforts and implement improvements
• Identify and remediate security risks and ensure compliance
• Automate infrastructure and processes using scripting and Infrastructure as Code
• Monitor and optimize cloud performance and cost efficiency
• Collaborate with teams to implement best practices
• Create and maintain documentation and architecture diagrams
• Mentor teammates on secure cloud practices
