Cloud Platform Engineer

Job summary

Design and operate scalable, cost-efficient cloud solutions on AWS for web and API applications. Responsibilities include automating operations, shaping cloud architecture, delivering features with cross-functional engineering teams, and maintaining service quality through SLOs, alarm investigation, and incident response.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience architecting, developing, and operating AWS cloud solutions for web or API applications.
• Knowledge of AWS networking and CloudFront, CloudWatch, ECS, Lambda, RDS, SNS, and SQS.
• Proficiency with AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or OpenTofu for Infrastructure as Code; AWS CDK is preferred.
• Experience with a programming language such as Python, Java, or C#.
• Experience with a scripting language such as Bash.
• On-call experience operating global services.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Strong DevOps mindset.
• Experience with DynamoDB, OpenSearch, Ansible, distributed application development, or AI enablement platforms is an advantage.
• Relevant AWS certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and operate AWS cloud solutions focused on automation, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Define cloud solution designs and lead their development.
• Deliver production features with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Coordinate with other squads to ensure solutions fit the platform.
• Define and maintain SLOs, investigate alarms, and respond to incidents.
