Job summary

The Cloud Platform Engineer role is essential for managing the deployment and operations of secure, multi-tenant VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.x environments, ensuring compliance and high availability. Responsibilities include configuring VMware technologies, managing platform services like centralized logging and monitoring, and implementing Zero Trust principles while collaborating with security and compliance teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, systems administration, or VMware-focused engineering roles
• Deep understanding of VMware VCF
• Experience with GPU compute environments
• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture
• Experience with infrastructure automation
• Strong scripting skills
• Hands-on experience with platform observability and secrets management
• Strong knowledge of RBAC and federated identity systems
• Ability to manage complex systems across distributed environments
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident eligible for federal clearance

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware VCF 9.x environments
• Operate and manage platform-level services
• Ensure secure operation of the environment
• Manage network segmentation and enforce multi-tenant isolation
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and availability
• Perform patch management, software upgrades, and infrastructure maintenance
• Support integration of subscriber identity management systems
• Work collaboratively with security, compliance, and network teams
• Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
