The Cloud Simulation Platform Engineer role focuses on operating and enhancing the technological foundation for scientific simulations, emphasizing cloud infrastructure, software engineering, and scientific computing. Key responsibilities include maintaining Apache Airflow on AWS EKS, implementing infrastructure-as-code solutions with ArgoCD and Helm, and managing Kubernetes workloads for compute-intensive jobs.

Qualifications
- PhD in computer science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., ArgoCD, Helm) and CI/CD pipeline development
- Software development skills including compilation, linking, and GPU acceleration
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow or willingness to learn
- Knowledge of Kubernetes including workload configuration and autoscaling
- Experience with AWS cloud services and fluent English for communication
Responsibilities
- Operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Apache Airflow deployments on AWS EKS
- Implementation of infrastructure-as-code solutions using ArgoCD and Helm
- Configuration and management of Kubernetes workloads on AWS EKS
- Setup and maintenance of observability tooling for proactive incident detection
- Collection and consolidation of requirements from workflow developers and platform users
- Support for the design of custom Airflow components and setup of HPC compute environments
- Creation of technical documentation and project tracking in Jira
