Job summary
Develops and maintains complex big-data cloud systems, contributing to back-end processing, analysis, indexing, testing, and software quality. Designs solutions for large-scale data processing and retrieval, implements Java applications and MapReduce workflows, and manages distributed cloud frameworks and multi-node installations using AWS, Hadoop, HDFS, HBase, YARN, and ZooKeeper.

Qualifications
- 12 years of software engineering experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, including four years working with big-data cloud technologies or distributed computing.
- Four years of relevant cloud software engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
- A master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline may substitute for two years of experience.
- Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer certification may substitute for one year of cloud experience.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to back-end processing, analysis, and indexing.
- Develop and test cloud information retrieval and distributed computing software.
- Implement Java applications and MapReduce analytics workflows.
- Review and test software against design requirements and document results.
- Resolve software issues and debug distributed cloud frameworks.
- Manage multi-node cloud installations.
- Oversee development tasks, delegate programming and testing, and monitor delivery.
- Ensure software quality and recommend improvements to development processes and technologies.
- Architect solutions for efficient large-scale data processing and retrieval.
