Job summary
Tempo is seeking a Corporate IT Automation Engineer to build a modern, automation-first Corporate IT function. This role involves automating repetitive IT tasks, designing and operating AI agents, and mentoring system administrators in automation practices. The engineer will focus on integrations, scripts, orchestration workflows, and AI agents across identity, endpoint, SaaS, and IT service management stacks.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT engineering, systems administration, DevOps, or IT automation with a track record of eliminating manual work.
- Strong scripting and programming skills (Python and/or Bash).
- Proficiency with REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON.
- Hands-on experience with Jira Service Management, including workflow and automation configuration.
- Experience administering or integrating core SaaS IT systems: Google Workspace, Cloud Identity, Okta, and endpoint/MDM tooling.
- Demonstrated experience building with AI, including LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and agentic or RAG-based applications.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Vertex AI for building, deploying, and operating AI/agent workloads.
- Experience with workflow orchestration/iPaaS tooling (n8n, Zapier, Tines, or equivalent).
- Ability to mentor peers and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Identify and automate high-volume, repetitive IT processes such as ticket triage, access requests, provisioning, onboarding/offboarding, software license assignment, password/MFA resets, and device lifecycle tasks.
- Design and implement workflow automation within Jira Service Management, including request types, approval flows, SLAs, queues, and automation rules.
- Build integrations between IT systems (ITSM, IdP, HRIS, endpoint management, SaaS apps) using APIs, webhooks, and iPaaS/orchestration tools.
- Develop and maintain self-service capabilities for employees to resolve common requests.
- Define, track, and report automation KPIs to IT leadership.
- Build, evaluate, and maintain AI agents for IT use cases like intent classification, ticket sizing, auto-response drafting, triage, assignment, knowledge-base curation, and stale-ticket management.
- Implement guardrails and human-in-the-loop approval gates for agent actions.
- Apply prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and agent-orchestration patterns; integrate agents with enterprise platforms via APIs.
- Establish evaluation, monitoring, and audit practices for agent behavior.
- Coach system administrators in scripting, version control, API usage, and automation design.
- Establish engineering practices for the IT team, including source control, code review, testing, documentation, and safe change management.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions, pair on builds, and create reusable templates, libraries, and playbooks.
- Champion an automation-first mindset within the team.
- Manage the lifecycle of automations and agents, including monitoring, alerting, error handling, and graceful failure.
- Partner with Security and IT Compliance to ensure automated access provisioning and agent actions meet security and compliance requirements.
- Maintain clear documentation and runbooks for automations.
