Job summary

Build and maintain the data and integration foundation for AI and BI solutions across internal support functions, including HR, Finance, IT, and Logistics. Develop data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, GenAI components such as RAG and vector search, and Power BI models; take prototypes into secure production with CI/CD, monitoring, evaluation, and governance controls.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in systems or data engineering, BI, integration, or software development.
• A degree in computer science, business informatics, data engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases, plus foundational data modeling skills.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and authentication methods such as OAuth/Entra ID.
• Understanding of LLMs, embeddings, RAG, and AI agents; motivation to develop expertise further.
• Some experience with Git, CI/CD, or Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Abacus ERP, Power Platform, or data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview is advantageous.
• Structured, quality-conscious working style and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• German proficiency at C1 level and English proficiency at B2 level.

Responsibilities

• Build and expand the data foundation for AI and BI applications, including data lakes or lakehouses, databases, and data models.
• Develop ETL/ELT pipelines and integrations with core business systems.
• Develop and operate APIs and connectors that provide secure access to data and applications for AI solutions, copilots, and agents.
• Implement GenAI components, including RAG pipelines, vector search, model configuration, and agent tools.
• Build semantic models, Power BI solutions, and AI-supported management reporting.
• Move prototypes into production with deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, cost control, and evaluation of AI results.
• Implement access controls, data classification, privacy, and information security in collaboration with architecture, security, and AI governance teams.
