Job summary
Seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Center Infrastructure and Automation Engineer to join the Network and Data Center teams. The primary focus of this role is to ensure stability and high uptime across hardware and software infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux skills and be proficient in deploying updates and patches to Linux-based systems, as well as having a strong understanding of networking. The role involves collaborating with Network, Data Center, and Middleware teams to maintain and improve infrastructure, utilizing tools like Ansible, Go, and Python for fleet-wide consistency and efficiency.

Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Linux systems administration, with experience in deploying updates and patches and Bash scripting
- Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols
- Experience working with Ansible for automation tasks and knowledge of Go and Python
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a data center environment
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes and familiarity with virtualization technologies
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (preferred)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) or Prometheus (preferred)
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Wireshark (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Deploy and assist with the rollout of new hardware into the Data Center
- Develop automated installation of OS and infrastructure services using tools such as Ansible to ensure fleet-wide consistency of systems
- Collaborate with the team to resolve hardware, network, and infrastructure issues promptly, minimizing downtime and service disruptions
- Collaborate with the Middleware team to support OpenStack services and Ceph
- Document and report on infrastructure changes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
