Data Center Infrastructure Engineer Internship 2027

Job summary

This internship supports the operation, reliability, and optimization of hyperscale data center facilities, working alongside Field Engineers on technical and operational projects. The role includes troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment, conducting root cause analysis, documenting corrective actions, supporting facility upgrades, and contributing to new construction through commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant engineering, architecture, or equivalent technical discipline.
• Knowledge of power systems, fluid dynamics, or thermodynamics.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Coursework in commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems.
• Experience with web-based or other software tools for calculations and data processing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot site and equipment failures, conduct root cause analysis, and document corrective actions.
• Support operational issues through training, operating procedure reviews, and event support.
• Develop conceptual designs for data center upgrades that increase capacity, availability, and efficiency.
• Coordinate with data center design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety teams to promote consistent, reliable standards.
• Work on concurrent projects.
• Support new construction projects through design, build, commissioning, and handover.
