Job summary

The Field Engineering Intern supports the operation and optimization of hyperscale data centers, working alongside experienced engineers on equipment failures, operational issues, and facility projects. Responsibilities include root cause analysis and corrective action documentation, reviewing operating procedures, developing upgrade concepts to improve capacity, availability, and efficiency, and supporting new construction through design, commissioning, and handover across electrical and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BE or BSc program in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, design engineering, building services, or a similar technical field; graduating in 2027
• Experience with problem-solving methodologies and analytical approaches to technical challenges
• Attention to detail and ability to work with data-driven processes
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders and teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to high-quality documentation and reporting

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot site and equipment failures; conduct root cause analysis and document corrective actions
• Support operational issues through training, operating procedure reviews, and event support
• Develop conceptual designs for data center upgrades that improve capacity, availability, and efficiency
• Coordinate with design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety teams to support consistent and reliable standards
• Manage concurrent projects
• Support new construction through design, build, commissioning, and handover
