Data Engineer - Platform Engineering

Job summary

N26*** is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Experience Team within the Platform Engineering Domain, focusing on building and maintaining scalable and secure database infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining cloud-based infrastructure, particularly in AWS.
• Experience with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
• Competence in at least one programming language (Python preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins, or similar).
• Experience with modern data transformation tools, particularly dbt.
• Expertise in workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow.
• Familiarity with networking and security best practices in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with observability tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain platform solutions for Database Platform infrastructure.
• Apply cloud infrastructure and CI/CD best practices.
• Collaborate with Product & Analytics Teams for orchestration and metadata management.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to documentation.
• Deliver high-quality code and infrastructure improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshooting.
• Maintain observability solutions to meet SLOs and availability targets.
