Job summary
The Data Platform Engineer develops and improves tooling and applications for a data platform, helping it operate efficiently and scale. The role automates workflows with CI/CD, optimizes platform performance, documents processes, and collaborates with business, AI/ML, operations, and Agile teams. Core technologies include Python with Streamlit and FastAPI, SQL, containerization, orchestration tools such as Airflow and Dagster, Snowflake, Azure, and GCP.

Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Python, including Streamlit and FastAPI, and SQL.
- Significant experience with containerization, orchestration, CI/CD, and API and service development.
- Knowledge of Azure, GCP, data engineering, and Snowflake.
- Strong communication skills in English and French.
- Kubernetes and Terraform experience are assets.
- Understanding of microservice architecture and experience with DevOps practices are assets.
- JavaScript or Node.js, Java, or Go experience is an asset.
- Collaborative working style, openness to sharing knowledge, and commitment to an inclusive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop tooling and applications for the data platform and its users.
- Automate workflows and reduce platform operational overhead using CI/CD and sound source control practices.
- Promote platform engineering principles and ensure tooling is implemented effectively.
- Identify platform development opportunities with business, AI/ML, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with Agile squads on iterative development and efficient workflows.
- Document technical processes for future maintenance.
