The Data Platform Engineer at Bloomberg will manage and enhance the database and search platform layer for Data License Plus, focusing on Oracle while also supporting PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch. Responsibilities include ensuring platform performance, automating processes, and leading migrations, with a strong emphasis on reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on experience operating Oracle databases
• Strong Oracle architecture and lifecycle knowledge
• Ability to diagnose complex Oracle performance problems
• Production experience with at least one adjacent platform
• Strong Linux fundamentals
• Proficiency in Python, Bash or another suitable systems language
• Experience with Git-based change control, CI/CD, monitoring, alerting
• A reliability and customer mindset
