Job summary

The role secures and industrializes a hybrid, multi-region Google Cloud data platform connected to an on-premises datacenter in a banking environment. Responsibilities include moving APIs and microservices to private networking, resolving hybrid routing and firewall issues, migrating real-time Kafka traffic to dedicated Cloud Interconnect, and building reusable Terraform modules through GitLab CI. The work also covers centralized PingFederate authentication, Zero Trust controls, private Cloud SQL, and operational documentation.

Qualifications

• Significant GCP experience in a hybrid cloud environment.
• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve cross-premises network issues with network and security teams.
• Advanced Terraform proficiency across multiple environments.
• Experience in banking or another highly regulated environment is an advantage.
• Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer and/or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Connect VPC spokes to the NCC hub and validate BGP routing.
• Complete hybrid GCP-to-datacenter connectivity testing and resolve routing and firewall issues.
• Deploy Layer 7 internal load balancers and serverless network endpoint groups for Cloud Run.
• Configure DNS peering and private Cloud DNS zones.
• Develop documented, reusable Terraform modules for development, staging, pre-production, and production.
• Migrate real-time Kafka traffic to the dedicated Cloud Interconnect link.
• Implement Zero Trust policies using Cloud Armor and IAP.
• Provision Cloud SQL with private IP addresses and manage KMS/CMEK encryption.
• Implement centralized authentication with PingFederate, OIDC, and SAML.
• Produce architecture and network-flow documentation, connectivity test records, and troubleshooting runbooks.
• Transfer knowledge to internal teams.
