Job summary
Support and evolve database systems for LHC experiments and operations, focusing on high availability and resilience.
Qualifications
- Experience operating production relational database services, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in database operations.
- Understanding of high-availability and disaster-recovery concepts.
- Experience with PostgreSQL HA tooling such as Patroni and Consul.
- Solid SQL knowledge for writing and troubleshooting database objects.
- Experience with load balancers and infrastructure tools.
- Ability to collaborate with teams and document procedures.
Responsibilities
- Administer and operate MySQL and PostgreSQL database platforms.
- Design and improve highly available PostgreSQL infrastructures.
- Develop automation for database provisioning and operational workflows.
- Monitor database environments for performance and security.
- Define database architecture and disaster recovery strategies.
- Provide technical support to application development teams.
- Mentor and train peers in technical expertise.
