Job summary

As a Database Platform Engineer, you will design and build highly scalable, resilient PostgreSQL platforms, making data reliable, secure, and future-proof for clients. You will build the technological data foundation for modern data platforms, focusing on automated, cloud-native platforms at an enterprise level.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in Computer Science, Business Informatics, a comparable technical field, or relevant professional experience
• Several years of experience in PostgreSQL Platform Engineering, Oracle technologies, and Advanced Database Architectures
• Strong understanding of Query Planner, Index Strategies, Partitioning, Replication, and High-Availability Setups
• Strong skills in Automation & Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible) and experience with GitOps and CI/CD approaches for databases
• Willingness to undertake project-related business trips
• Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable, highly available Oracle technologies and PostgreSQL platforms for modern data and analytics use cases
• Plan and implement complex database migrations, such as on-premise to cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP), between hyperscalers, or from legacy systems to PostgreSQL platforms
• Automate the entire Database Lifecycle (IaC, GitOps, CI/CD) as "Database as a Service"
• Provide technical leadership with a focus on Observability, Reliability, Governance, and Best Practices across teams
