Job summary
The Database Platform Engineer maintains and develops a DB2 platform on IBM z/OS, supporting reliable and performant database services and the modernization of a major public-administration system. Working with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps teams, the role covers data-model changes, performance optimization, database software maintenance, external data integration, and data migrations and imports or exports.

Qualifications
- HBO or WO degree in Computer Science or a comparable field.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with DB2 on IBM z/OS or willingness to develop expertise in it.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical problems.
- Collaborative, accountable, and flexible working style.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the DB2 platform on IBM z/OS.
- Support platform reliability, availability, and performance.
- Change data models and optimize database performance.
- Support application development and Agile, Scrum, and DevOps teams.
- Patch and manage database software.
- Integrate external data sources.
- Carry out data migrations and data import and export activities.
