Job summary
The Database Reliability Engineer owns and evolves database infrastructure across multiple platforms, supporting high availability and expansion into new regions. Responsibilities include performance and capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery, database operations and security, and automation with Go or Python. The stack includes AWS Aurora MySQL and PostgreSQL, MongoDB Atlas, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Prometheus.

Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience managing advanced MySQL and MongoDB problems
- Experience managing large-scale production database systems
- Strong understanding of database architecture, performance optimization, high availability, and database security
- Automation mindset and programming skills for improving database operations and reliability
- Understanding of SLI, SLO, and SLA concepts and experience applying reliability engineering practices
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available database architectures across multiple countries
- Improve database performance, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery
- Build Go and Python automation tools to streamline database operations and reduce manual errors
- Monitor database health and performance, configure SLO burn-rate alerts, and identify issues proactively
- Manage schema changes, data migrations, and production deployments
- Advise development teams on database design, query optimization, and troubleshooting
- Conduct database security audits and apply security best practices
