DBA Senior SQL Server / PostgreSQL – Production & Étude (DevOps) H/F (IT) / Freelance

Job summary

The role combines production database administration with technical guidance for development teams supporting a critical e-commerce platform. You will maintain and optimize SQL Server Enterprise and PostgreSQL databases, handle incidents and recovery planning, review data models and SQL changes, and contribute to modernization toward a hybrid on-premises and cloud architecture using automation and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• More than 10 years of experience as a senior DBA, including substantial experience supporting critical SQL Server databases in production.
• Experience in both production database administration and study/design work with development teams.
• Strong SQL Server Enterprise expertise, including AlwaysOn, tuning, indexing, partitioning, replication, and high availability.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and Patroni.
• Ability to challenge data models, review SQL code, and anticipate performance issues before production.
• Availability for on-call duties.
• DevOps experience with Git, CI/CD, Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible is preferred.
• Knowledge of Couchbase and managed cloud databases is preferred.
• Experience with database migration or modernization projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of Linux, Windows, VMware, or Kubernetes is preferred.
• Professional English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability, performance, and security of critical databases.
• Administer SQL Server environments, including AlwaysOn, backups, disaster recovery, supervision, and capacity planning.
• Diagnose complex production incidents and participate in crisis response.
• Implement maintenance, optimization, and version upgrade plans.
• Manage backups, restores, and recovery tests.
• Advise development teams during solution design and review data models and technical choices.
• Review SQL pull requests and optimize queries for performance.
• Define best practices for data access.
• Contribute to database platform modernization and migration projects.
• Automate database deployments and recurring operations, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
