Desktop Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The Department for Work and Pensions is seeking Infrastructure Engineers to join their Desktop Engineering team, responsible for delivering and supporting modern endpoint services for over 100,000 devices.

Qualifications

• Documented design experience
• Experience managing pre-prod, dev, and test environments
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Windows 10/11, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
• Experience supporting core services including Azure and Entra ID
• Experience delivering technical change in a live service environment
• Experience in a large, multi-supplier or multi-team environment
• Experience with software deployment and desktop management

Responsibilities

• Support live service operations and manage 3rd line incidents
• Deliver technical changes and deployments to production environments
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Support project delivery through implementation and configuration
• Contribute to proofs of concept and onboarding of new technologies
• Represent the desktop service at governance and design forums
• Support roadmap delivery and continuous service improvement
