Job summary

The DevOps Automation Engineer III at GM Financial will develop solutions to enhance developer productivity and automate security and governance controls. Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD tool chain products like Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet
  • Experience with provisioning tools like Terraform, ARM templates, Cloud Formation
  • Experience with scripting languages like Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell
  • Experience with development frameworks for JavaScript, C#, GoLang, Ruby, Python
  • Experience with enterprise platforms, operating systems, web applications, and micro-services
  • Experience with container management technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher
  • Experience with WebApp and API technologies like XML, XSL, WSDL, SOAP, JSON, HTML, REST
  • Knowledge of API access control using OAuth
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and common network protocols
  • Experience with SSL certificates, reverse proxies, and load-balancing
  • Knowledge of IT security, networking, and infrastructure practices
  • Knowledge of information systems concepts and cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of public cloud architectures and offerings

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support tools and infrastructure for SDLC pipeline and configuration management
  • Architect, implement, customize, and deploy CI/CD pipelines
  • Conduct knowledge transfer of standards and tooling capabilities
  • Communicate technical approach and implementation status to stakeholders
  • Conduct problem isolation and troubleshooting on infrastructure and tools
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of tools and capabilities
  • Perform system planning, installation, and upgrades of tools and infrastructure
  • Evangelize best practices and capabilities to development organization
  • Advocate for stakeholder requirements with other teams
  • Lead critical incident escalation activities as required
  • Manage intake queue in an agile environment
  • Update platform KPIs for stakeholders
  • Provide after-hours support and participate in on-call rotation as needed
