DevOps / CI-CD Engineer (Snowflake + dbt)

Job summary

The DataOps / CI-CD Engineer builds and owns delivery pipelines for an enterprise Snowflake and dbt data platform, enabling controlled promotion of changes across DEV, TEST, UAT and PROD. The role automates code validation and testing, Snowflake deployments with infrastructure-as-code, secure pipeline authentication, release approvals, rollback processes and audit trails. It also supports regulated change control and collaborates with engineering, architecture, testing and security teams.

Qualifications

• Experience building and owning CI/CD pipelines for data platforms, ideally Snowflake and dbt.
• Strong Git skills, including branching strategies, pull request workflows and merge management.
• Hands-on experience with at least one of GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines or GitLab CI.
• Experience automating Snowflake deployments and using Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Understanding of secrets management, service accounts and secure automated authentication.
• Working knowledge of dbt compilation, builds, tests, selectors, environments and artifacts.
• Experience with release approvals, rollback strategies and audit trails.
• Scripting ability in Python, Bash and/or PowerShell.
• Clear communication skills and ability to work with engineering, architecture and governance stakeholders.
• Banking, financial services or other regulated change-control experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and own the end-to-end CI/CD pipeline for the Snowflake and dbt platform.
• Define Git branching strategies, branch protections and merge conventions.
• Automate pull request validation, dbt compilation, builds and tests, SQL linting, and slim CI.
• Control promotion of code and Snowflake objects across DEV, TEST, UAT and PROD.
• Provision Snowflake infrastructure using Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Manage secrets, service accounts and secure pipeline authentication with least-privilege access.
• Configure release approvals, deployment protections, rollback approaches and audit trails.
• Document pipeline designs and runbooks, coach engineers, and align delivery with security and governance standards.
