Job summary

As a DevOps Engineer Kubernetes (m/w/d) at Devoteam Innovative Tech, you will be the expert for designing and building Kubernetes platforms in client projects. You will also contribute to further development and operational tasks. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support clients with cutting-edge technologies, new approaches, and the development and operation of innovative applications on modern platforms to maximize their productivity and growth.

Qualifications

  • Completed university education in computer science or a related field
  • Minimum three years of experience as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer
  • Several years of practical experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, GitOps, and related tools
  • Passion for technology and innovation, living the DevOps philosophy, and familiarity with models, principles, and best practices
  • Proactive approach, utilizing creative freedom, and supporting colleagues
  • High degree of initiative and teamwork
  • Openness to new topics, technologies, and solutions
  • Analytical skills
  • Practical experience with Red Hat OpenShift, SUSE Rancher, or VMware Tanzu is an advantage
  • Experience with Go and writing Kubernetes operators
  • Good knowledge of K8s Networking (e.g., Calico, Cilium) and Ceph Storage is a plus
  • Service Mesh know-how (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) is ideal
  • Deep knowledge of KVM, libvirt, and KubeVirt is beneficial
  • Experience using AI-based productivity tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot
  • Initial experience in Open Data Hub, OpenShift AI, MLOps, and AIOps
  • Very good knowledge of Linux, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management Tools (e.g., Kustomize, Helm)
  • Container/K8s Security Best Practices
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and GitOps (e.g., Tekton, Argo CD, Flux CD, Fleet)
  • Experience with Monitoring-Tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Jaeger)

Responsibilities

  • Build Kubernetes and GitOps solutions in client projects
  • Support Kubernetes projects from design and architecture to implementation, application porting, and operational handover
  • Provide expert advice on solution architecture, platform, and tool selection
  • Apply practical experience from Kubernetes Platform Engineering to software projects
  • Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams on design, consulting, and implementation of concepts
  • Proactively address topics and support colleagues
