DevOps Data Engineer

Job summary

The senior DevOps Data Engineer builds and operates reliable data products for a Fixed Access Network organization, contributing technical leadership and stability as the team adopts a data-mesh approach. The role includes automating SQL-based ETL pipelines and materialized lakehouse views, translating business needs into data solutions, and improving the Microsoft Fabric platform with the platform team. It also involves sharing knowledge during the transition and exploring AI tools such as Copilot and GitHub tooling to improve development and automation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a senior Data Engineer or DevOps Data Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, ETL, and data pipelines.
• Strong stakeholder skills and ability to connect technical and business teams.
• Excellent Dutch and English.
• Ability to provide stability and support colleagues through change.
• Experience with platform migrations, transitions, or introducing a new data platform is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or a comparable modern data environment is preferred.
• Practical AI experience in data or software development, with the ability to share knowledge, is preferred.
• Experience with data mesh and data product development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, improve, and automate data pipelines and ETL processes, including materialized lakehouse views.
• Develop and provide reliable data products for the organization.
• Work with information analysts and process experts to understand data and translate needs into solutions and requirements.
• Collaborate constructively with the platform team to improve the new data platform.
• Share knowledge and support colleagues through the organizational transition.
• Use AI tools where useful to improve team efficiency, automation, and error correction.
