Job summary
Morrisons is seeking a Mid-Level DevOps Data Engineer to manage their Google Cloud Platform data environment and enhance their DevOps practices. The role involves infrastructure automation and data pipeline development.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in DevOps and Data Engineering
- Experience managing production environments in GCP
- Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure management
- Experience building automation pipelines in Jenkins
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience with Java is a plus
- Familiarity with Looker development is desirable
- Ability to collaborate with engineers and analysts
- Excellent communication skills for technical solutions
- Documentation skills for infrastructure and pipeline logic
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain Terraform scripts for GCP infrastructure
- Implement access control and security in BigQuery
- Monitor GCP resource utilization and optimize costs
- Code automated ETL/ELT pipelines for BigQuery
- Design and manage CI/CD workflows using Jenkins
- Collaborate with Data Analysts to optimize BigQuery performance
- Set up monitoring and logging for pipeline health
