• Several years of experience operating PostgreSQL databases in an enterprise or project environment
• Good knowledge of Linux and operating performant, highly available PostgreSQL setups with monitoring, logging, and backups
• Experience with DevOps approaches, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines
• Initial experience operating or analyzing Oracle databases in enterprise environments is desirable
• Interest in AI, data-intensive solutions, cloud and container technologies, and the further development of PostgreSQL
• Very good analytical and conceptual skills for designing robust, scalable database solutions

Responsibilities

• Plan, administer, and operate PostgreSQL databases in an enterprise environment
• Ensure stability, performance, and high availability (e.g., replication, failover, DR concepts, Patroni)
• Automate and standardize deployment and operational processes (e.g., Ansible, IaC, CI/CD)
• Manage lifecycle with patching, upgrades, and capacity planning
• Support IT teams with database-related questions, performance tuning, access, role, and security concepts
• Design architecture and operational concepts for PostgreSQL in cloud and container environments
• Develop overall architecture with database and platform teams
• Evaluate database and data platform technologies for AI and analytics
