This is a free training course followed by the potential for a role with one of our clients. Title: DevOps Engineer Job location: Remote, UK (1 day per fortnight in London or Manchester) Description: These job roles are linked directly to free education, and upon completion of our course, you will be equipped to start your new role. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 1.5+ years of experience in a technology-focused role using Python Able to pass a technical assessment in Python, Java or Javascript Commitment to complete a 16-week, part-time course to develop your mid-level skills KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Build & Streamline CI/CD Pipelines: Design, implement, and maintain robust GitOps pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Helm, and ArgoCD to automate software delivery. Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and optimise infrastructure using Terraform and related automation tools across hybrid cloud environments. Modernise & Migrate Workloads: Support the containerisation and migration of legacy batch components into modern Kubernetes and OpenShift environments. Enhance Platform Reliability & Security: Ensure continuous delivery ecosystems align with AWS best practices for scalability, security, and high availability. Collaborate Across Engineering Teams: Partner with application and infrastructure teams to streamline version control, manage artifact registries, and eliminate deployment friction. KEY REQUIREMENTS: Hands-on CI/CD & GitOps Expertise: Practical experience with automated delivery pipelines and modern GitOps tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Helm, ArgoCD, Flux, Jenkins, or Terraform). Containerisation & Orchestration Skills: Strong working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes ecosystems (Red Hat OpenShift experience is a major bonus). Automated Scripting & Problem-Solving: Ability to automate repetitive tasks and optimise workflows using languages such as Bash, Python, or Go. Hybrid & Cloud Platform Knowledge: Hands-on exposure to public, private, or hybrid cloud environments (such as AWS, IBM Cloud, GCP, or Azure). Collaborative DevOps Mindset: Proven ability to work constructively at the intersection of development and operations in a team-focused environment. Agility & Automation: taking part in modern software development process, you'll further develop your Agile, DevOps and automation skills, deploying to the cloud.
