Job summary
The Infra/DevOps Engineer supports the modernisation and reliable operation of application infrastructure across Linux, PostgreSQL, Java application platforms, and CI/CD. The role includes upgrading and securing Debian/Linux systems and PostgreSQL databases, administering Apache Tomcat, building disaster recovery and deployment processes, and troubleshooting production issues across operating system, database, and application layers. It also contributes to infrastructure projects, operational documentation, and relevant ISO management-system compliance.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience as a Linux systems administrator, infrastructure engineer, or in a similar role; Debian or Ubuntu experience preferred
- Practical PostgreSQL administration experience, including major-version upgrades
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience administering Apache Tomcat or similar Java application servers
- Experience building and testing disaster recovery solutions
- Bash or Python scripting for routine administration automation is advantageous
- Awareness of or experience with ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 frameworks or equivalents is desirable
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with development and infrastructure teams
Responsibilities
- Upgrade and maintain PostgreSQL platforms, including compatibility testing and performance validation
- Patch, upgrade, and secure Debian/Linux operating systems
- Build, test, and periodically validate disaster recovery and failover solutions
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable application and infrastructure deployments
- Administer, maintain, and tune Apache Tomcat application servers
- Perform Linux systems administration, including monitoring, capacity planning, backups, and incident response
- Troubleshoot production issues across operating system, database, and application layers
- Support infrastructure engineering, project deployments, and technology initiatives
- Maintain technical documentation and operational records
- Improve infrastructure, deployment, and operational processes
- Support relevant ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 requirements
