Job summary
This role involves the reliable operation and technical development of the Stellplatz-Informationsdienst (SID), a central data service for real-time occupancy of rest areas along federal highways. The focus is currently on operations, aiming to build a foundation for future development work. The successful candidate will develop and operate production-critical services, solve operational problems sustainably, and contribute to product development.

Qualifications
- Solid experience in IT operations.
- Familiarity with Linux, Shell-Scripting (Bash), JSON, and CI/CD processes.
- Proficient in Python.
- Completed degree in computer science or similar fields.
- Experience with GitLab, OpenShift, Kafka, and monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus is welcome.
- Ability to acquire missing knowledge systematically.
- Experience working in agile environments.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Miro.
- Practical experience with DevOps philosophy, including transparent error communication and post-mortems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and operate production-critical services for processing large mobility data streams, including APIs, data pipelines, backend components, and operational tools.
- Solve operational problems sustainably by analyzing root causes in the code, automating processes, and continuously improving system architecture.
- Translate backlog items into concrete technical solutions, developing, documenting, and implementing detailed and interface specifications for mass processing of mobility data as applications, databases, or other software artifacts.
- Ensure quality consistently with a Shift-Left approach, developing and maintaining test automation, and checking updates for compatibility before deployment.
- Contribute to product development by evaluating user stories based on relevance, time, risk, and complexity, and continuously developing the Git pipeline.
