DevOps Engineer - Digital Government (m/w/d)

Job summary

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer for the Berlin location as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Technical degree, ideally in computer science, or a comparable education (IT specialist).
• Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes (k3d and OpenShift), and Helm Charts.
• Experience with logging (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Knowledge in programming (Java, JavaScript, Lua, Scala), scripting (Shell, Bash, Python), and API design (REST, Messaging, RabbitMQ), as well as Postgres and S3 in microservice architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deploying large software applications, preferably with Gitlab.
• Knowledge of Linux, preferably on Redhat systems, and network protocols in the context of Apisix and Myra.
• Team and communication skills (English and at least B2 German language skills), as well as a systematic, goal-oriented, and independent working style.

Responsibilities

• Conceive, build, and configure local development environments using k3d.
• Ensure fast and smooth deployments across all internal stages and pipelines, and corresponding software deliveries.
• Advise and support activities related to the containerization and operation of modern web applications (microservices).
• Implement standardization and automation of build, test, and deployment processes, considering high quality and strict data protection requirements.
• Define relevant metrics for application monitoring in collaboration with SRE.
• Deploy applications via self-created Helm Charts.
• Debug applications and provide 3rd level support.
