Devops Engineer

Job summary

Develop and improve an internal developer platform that enables software teams to build, test, and deploy applications consistently and reliably. The role focuses on GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, Docker and Kubernetes on Google Kubernetes Engine, and improvements to cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring, security, and resource efficiency.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer, Systems Engineer, or in a comparable technical role.
• Experience with container technology such as Docker.
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Kubernetes; Google Kubernetes Engine is preferred.
• Familiarity with Linux, particularly Ubuntu or Debian.
• Understanding of the relationship between cloud infrastructure, software development, and deployment.
• Interest in automation and improving technical processes.
• Ability to collaborate with developers and technical specialists.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to share knowledge.
• Willingness to learn and keep up with technical developments.
• Based in the Netherlands and willing to work from the Rotterdam office.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and improve an internal developer platform.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Automate deployment processes and recurring tasks.
• Develop shared platform capabilities and self-service solutions.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Kubernetes Engine.
• Improve cloud infrastructure and technical configurations.
• Improve monitoring, logging, dashboards, and alerting.
• Implement secure default configurations and security scans.
• Improve application reliability, scalability, and availability.
• Identify opportunities to optimize cloud costs and resource use.
• Support development teams with technical questions.
• Evaluate technologies that could improve the platform.
