Job summary
HM Land Registry is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their Transformation & Technology team. The role involves supporting the delivery of platform and infrastructure for new micro service applications and providing technical engineering capability for the Web Operations team. The successful candidate will work with Agile development teams to deliver new services in a highly available and supportable configuration.

Qualifications
- Hold a qualification in Information Technology or a related area (Degree Level or equivalent) and/or experience in an IT field.
- Experience supporting Operating Systems, containers, and containerized workloads (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker containers).
- Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Ruby, Java, Python, JavaScript, Go).
- Knowledge and experience of DevOps working practices of Continuous Integration.
- Experience using version control (Git and GitLab CI) and configuration-as-code across cloud and on-premise environments using Terraform.
- Experience working in an agile environment building, deploying, supporting, and operating cloud applications.
- Understanding of Infrastructure-as-code across cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, on-prem).
Responsibilities
- Work with IT software development teams to support delivery of platform and infrastructure for new micro service applications.
- Configure, administer, and support infrastructure using DevOps methodology across multiple cloud infrastructures.
- Ensure infrastructure is secure, performant, and supportable following an agile approach to incremental delivery.
- Provide technical engineering capability for the Web Operations team.
- Support production systems and work with Agile development teams to deliver new services.
- Engage with other DevOps Engineers and Senior DevOps Engineers.
- Coach and support Junior DevOps Engineers.
- Lead technical consolidation and improvement activities.
- Provide guidance and leadership to technicians within IT Operations Practice and wider DDaT.
- Support and deliver solutions in line with Technology and Business Strategies.
