Job summary

SRE/DevOps Engineer position in Berlin focused on standardizing and automating build and deployment processes.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in computer science or a comparable field or a technical education with relevant professional experience in a similar position
• Solid practical experience in cloud environments and orchestration of container applications, ideally with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
• Good understanding of SRE principles and interest in their practical implementation, as well as knowledge of monitoring, debugging, and performance measurement tools
• Proficient in scripting and dynamic programming languages (e.g., Shell, Python, Go)
• Knowledge of Linux and version control of software applications, preferably with git
• Analytical, service-oriented work style and enjoyment of working in agile teams (Scrum, Kanban)
• Very good German and/or English skills (at least C1) and willingness to be on call (24/7)

Responsibilities

• Standardize and automate build and deployment processes (CI/CD) considering quality and IT security requirements
• Implement and manage monitoring and alerting environment (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Opsgenie) for proactive problem management
• Ensure smooth operation of the Digital Credentials platform in collaboration with software engineering teams
• Ensure availability, latency, performance, and capacity of production systems
• Manage infrastructure of projects or products
• Design and implement security measures in collaboration with the IT security team
• Introduce and develop effective SRE practices and analyze and resolve incidents (on-call duty)
