DevOps Engineer (m/w/d)

Job summary

The Bundesdruckerei-Gruppe is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Berlin to optimize performance, troubleshoot, and improve services through testing and release procedures within a cross-functional team. The engineer will also develop sustainable systems through automation and continuous improvements, balancing feature development with reliability.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed degree or comparable education with a focus on computer science and relevant professional experience in the IT environment.
• Profound experience in Linux / RHEL administration (system performance, network, error analysis).
• Practical experience with OpenShift and CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals and containerization (Pods, Services, Ingress, Scheduling).
• Experience in incident management, on-call duty, and conducting post-mortems (e.g., via OpsGenie).
• Understanding of security concepts, secrets management (e.g., Vault), and access control (RBAC).
• Analytical, service-oriented work style and enjoyment of working in agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Capture and analyze metrics, operating systems, and applications to support performance optimization and troubleshooting.
• Improve services through consistent testing and release procedures within a cross-functional team.
• Develop sustainable systems and services through automation and continuous improvements.
• Balance feature development and reliability with clearly defined Service-Level Objectives.
• Document best-practice approaches and support interdepartmental knowledge exchange.
