DevOps Engineer (m/w/d)

Job summary

Rheinmetall is seeking a DevOps Engineer to conceptualize, build, and maintain secure, automated software-delivery pipelines from development to production. The role involves implementing and operating Infrastructure as Code, managing artifact repositories, and integrating automated security checks into the development lifecycle. The engineer will also be responsible for establishing reliable deployment workflows and continuously improving the delivery platform.

• Successfully completed studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification.
• Years of professional experience in Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, or Platform Engineering.
• Profound experience in the conception and operation of automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
• Solid knowledge of container technologies, artifact management, and modern cloud-native development workflows.
• Experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for system provisioning and management.
• Proficient English language skills, both written and spoken.
• Practical experience in integrating IT security best practices into software delivery pipelines.
• Structured and solution-oriented approach to complex technical challenges.
• Strong cooperation and communication skills within cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Conceive, build, and maintain secure, fully automated software delivery pipelines from development to production.
• Implement and operate Infrastructure as Code to ensure consistent, reproducible, and scalable environments.
• Manage and control artifact repositories with strict immutability, retention policies, and cryptographic verification.
• Integrate automated security checks into the development lifecycle for early vulnerability detection.
• Establish and maintain reliable deployment workflows based on version-controlled configuration and automated promotion between environments.
• Provide reusable pipeline templates and self-service functions to enable development teams to deliver software efficiently.
• Implement secure secrets and credential management to protect sensitive system access.
• Continuously improve the reliability, scalability, and observability of the delivery platform and deployment infrastructure.
