Nomad Digital is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team in Hildesheim. The role involves configuring and adapting passenger experience products, ensuring reliable deployment across data centres, and collaborating with various teams for problem analysis and system maintenance.

Qualifications

• BSc in Computer Science or 3+ years experience
• Linux Professional Institute or equivalent experience
• 2 years minimum experience configuring and troubleshooting networks
• Experience with Linux systems: Ubuntu / Debian
• Scripting skills in Bash / Python
• Experience with Kubernetes / Docker
• Knowledge of GitLab CI/CD and GitOps principles
• Experience with Puppet / Ansible
• Understanding of firewalls and routing
• Experience with virtualization technologies
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with Zabbix / Prometheus

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to ensure all work is tested before deployment
• Configure and adapt products to meet customer requirements
• Document customer requirements in detail
• Integrate project-specific elements and validate through testing
• Maintain configuration management and CI/CD chain
• Control product and configuration releases
• Deploy customer-specific software configurations
• Diagnose faults in IT and communication systems
• Build test specifications and document results
• Implement automation and logging systems
• Create documentation for internal and external use
• Adhere to system audit requirements
• Manage handover to support staff, including training
• Act as first point of contact for problem analysis
• Conduct regular system maintenance
• Recognize when to escalate issues within the team
• Collaborate on delivery requirements and process improvements
