DevOps Engineer (Rust)

Job summary

KPN's Logfile Management team is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build and manage data pipelines and services primarily in Rust, focusing on operational ownership.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills, preferably in Rust and/or Scala
• Affinity for operations; candidates who only want to write code are not suitable
• Team player who actively collaborates to improve the product
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Fluent in English; Dutch strongly preferred
• Proactive, ownership-driven mindset: equally important as technical skills
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 shift rotation is required

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-quality data pipelines and services primarily in Rust
• Configure, extend, and manage log and metric tooling for clients
• Manage the full lifecycle: design, build, implement, manage, improve
• Handle operational aspects: reliability, incident response, automation, continuous improvement
• Use Grafana for monitoring the platform
